Care and maintenance

The principal thing to remember when using and storing glass dildos, is that they are glass. It is important to remember that glass breaks easily, and broken glass is very sharp. Even a small nick in a glass dildo will turn it immediately from a fun and useable sex toy into a razor-sharp and frightening instrument that should never be placed anywhere near your tender bits. That aside, sensible care and protection of your glass dildo should result in it lasting forever.

Be careful with glass toys, especially when they are lubricated and ready to be used. One of the main attractions of glass is that it is very slippery, and therefore easy to drop. Be certain to exercise caution in choosing where you play. Dropping your wonderful new toy on soft carpet or a cushion, is far less likely to cause damage than on hard tiles or concrete. Its also a good idea to store your new toy wrapped in a soft cloth.

Glass does have some interesting safety and hygiene advantages. Glass is non porous. This means that it is easier to clean and disinfect than other materials. You can soak glass in bleach or apply alcohol to it without any ill effects. Be certain to rinse it well before using it again.

What is Pyrex?
The word 'Pyrex', although a current brand, has become a generic name for borosilicate glass that is resistant to heat, chemicals, and electricity. It is used to make chemical apparatus, industrial equipment, and ovenware.

Cleaning Instructions
All of our dildos can be cleaned by boiling or disinfecting with a little bleach or standard disinfectant. Pyrex is hypoallergenic. You can also wash your toy with antibacterial soap and warm water, before and after each use.

Heating Instructions
Because borosilicate glass retains temperature well, heating your piece may provide a new stimulating sensation. We recommend heating your dildo by placing it in, or under, hot running tap water for several minutes. Take care not to over-heat your toy as hot glass can burn.

Cooling Instructions
Cool glass can also be a stimulating sensation. Do not freeze the glass, as this could cause it to stick to your skin on contact. Submerge the glass completely in ice water for a short time. Chips or cracks
Inspect your dildo very carefully before and after each use. If it becomes chipped or cracked, it will be dangerous and should not be used under any circumstances.
